Happy Birthday Bo!
Bo is having a birthday party-it is the first birthday party ever-and will be the best ever, too. He has so many friends from all over the place and he wants everyone to feel at home. So, he is going to show all of us how birthdays are celebrated around the world-hippo style.

Bo's Story is your story, too.

Meet Bo
the lovable heirloom hippo, who has been in Rain’s family for a long, long time-ever since her great-great-great grandmother gave him to Rain’s great-great-great Aunt Marilyn.

It’s not always easy being an heirloom hippo, especially when you get carried around by your ears.

What Bo like?
adventures, travel, forever families, any kind of dumplings, singing, dancing and His friends

What Bo dislike?
People calling him old, being left out, and not having a friend to play with

Bo's favorite saying
"Hip, Hippo, Hooray!"

Make a birthday card!
Bo doesn’t want any presents for his birthday-you’ll get a goody bag-but he does LOVE birthday cards.

Can you make him one?

You can ask your teacher or your parents for help! If you send Bo a card that you made, he will send you back a special surprise and display your card at his party and his party site.

Entering is easy. Just card your materials and let your imagination run wild!

The cards can be created in any media, such as crayons, paint, pencil, and/or markers. They need to be 8 ½ x 6 inches, horizontal or vertical. The deadline is January 18, 2008. ALL entered birthday cards will be posted on Bo’s birthday Web site for everyone to see! Privacy is respected, so only the kids’ first names will be posted with their cards. To enter, collect the birthday cards and send them to: Bo’s Global Birthday Party, 25 Fern Rd., Southampton, NY, 11968. Alternately, entries can be scanned and emailed as a jpg file to info@simpleasthat.com.

Special bonus for teachers: if your class participates, you will receive a set of books and their companion Learning and Activity Guides.
